# Longing for a Solution

Greetings my friends!!! I appreciate you stopping by my blog.

I sit here today reflecting on where I was in life 6 1/2 years ago today. Quite frankly, I was exhausted. Another day, another hangover. Trying to piece together a blackout. Mental fog. Being physically "there", but not present. Tension. Making rules in an effort to control something that had complete control over me. You get the picture. And if your an alcoholic, you can relate.

On July 15, 2013, I surrendered. The very thing I longed for came to me by walking through the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous. The solution was in the steps. And so it began.

Through the fellowship of AA, step work, support from family & friends, 2,376 "24 hours", later, I sit here clear headed and present. I take care of myself which enables me to take care of others. The relationships I have are healthy, and I value them greatly. There are so many gifts from recovery.

I found my solution in AA through the steps and fellowship.

By the grace of God, I go to bed tonight grateful for another 24 hours of sobriety. I may not always be happy, joyous and free, but I have **FREEDOM,** and that is priceless.
