Chosen

A Memoir of Adoption, Addiction, and One Woman’s Unapologetic Becoming

Lisa spent much of her life carrying labels. In Chosen, she traces her journey from the lifelong questions of adoption to addiction, seventeen years of sobriety, a devastating relapse, and her recommitment to recovery — an invitation to release the labels that keep us small.

About Lisa

Author, speaker, wellness advocate, and health educator.

Adopted as an infant, sober after relapse, and widowed after thirty-eight years with her husband Steven, Lisa writes and speaks with candor about identity, belonging, recovery, faith, grief, and reinvention. A Louisiana native, mother, and grandmother, she returned to college at fifty-six and earned her degree in Kinesiology before turning sixty.
