About the book
In Chosen, Lisa Dugal shares her journey through adoption, addiction and recovery, late-in-life reinvention, and devastating loss to show that we are more than the labels placed upon us, and it is never too late to heal, choose ourselves, and courageously step into what comes next.
Adopted as an infant, sober for seventeen years before relapsing, back in college at fifty-six, and widowed after thirty-six years of marriage, Lisa Dugal knows what it means to have life change without permission. In Chosen, she tells an honest, hope-filled story of identity, recovery, faith, reinvention, and grief, reminding readers that what happened to us does not have to define us and that one courageous choice can begin an entirely new chapter.
